Freecycling

Fighting for freerecyling

Admins 1: Privacy Policy

When you connect to the Internet you make yourself available to millions of people you have never met. While most people are like yourself, just there to make life better, it is just possible that some of these people are there to exploit you, and in some cases this might not be pleasant. The golden rule is take care. By taking care we mean:

  • Do not expose your personal details such as address, telephone number unless you see a good reason and
  • Read other Internet resources so you understand what privacy on the Internet is all about.

In the context of freecycling privacy takes on an extra meaning since you may invite people to your house to collect items that you are offering. Such an action is no worse than selling any item in, say a newspaper.  Explicitly never post your personal details to the group.

As group owner-moderators we take your privacy seriously and do what we can to help protect you, but in the end you are  responsible for your own safety.

However it is always well to be aware of these matters. If you do suffer a bad experience then report it to us and also if you feel it appropriate consider telling your local police.
