  1. Is Freecycling a scam or fraud? I think so.

I first read about Freecycling on a website I frequent, and thought, “Hey that is a GREAT Idea”. Kinda like a organized garbage picking, and I am all for that.

So, I Off I go , I got some stuff to get out of the apartment, as I have new interests and stuff, and need the space. Lord knows I need the space.

I find the local freecycle group on Yahoo and send off a membership request. Welp, today I get an email that I was sent a form to fill out, and since I did not I was one of several horbile internet type denizens, and so on, and I am denided membership.

Last I checked, I did not ever need membership to put my garbage out with a FREE sign on some reusable stuff. Or to pick up reusable stuff out of a garbage pile. Well, at least not till recently, where they made that illegal in our county.

Seems to me, Freecyling people should get busy against such laws, and forget about granting membership to garbage pick.

    Thanks for your efforts….

  2. The purpose of such forms and moderation is to stop abusive advertisers posting in the network and to stop advertising bots from posting. Use some common internet sense rather than hate-mongering.

  3. Yeah that form was terrible. I had to say why I wanted to join. Whew, that was tough.

    Get serious.

  5. Has freecycle.org.au ended? I was a member and found it very useful to dispose of useable goods rather than sending them to landfill. Unable to access the old website.
